The match was tied aqt 2-2 at the end of the first with Tony Azevedo scoring bot h USA goals. In the second quarter the US outscored Croatia 3-1. Varellas, Wright and Hutten all made their shots. The USA defense dominated the scorless 3rd period. Then, in the 4th, Tony made his hat trick and Bailey put the final nail in the coffin of Team Croatia a late score, putting ahead 7-5.
Team USA plays the 2/2 team Germany for advancement into the medal rounds.
